Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase LUX Glazing products?

Ordering with LUX Glazing follows a clear and simple process in 6 easy steps.

  1. You have an initial conversation with one of our consultants. You'll need to provide your initial measurements and talk about your needs including shape, frame type, colour and locking mechanism. We normally allocate 35 minutes for this consultation.

  2. LUX Glazing provides you with a basic quote based on your requirements and offers any available extras like wimdow sills or upgrades.

  3. You decide on what the final order is and pay a 40% non-refundable deposit.

  4. LUX Glazing processes your order and no further changes can be made. At this point, your deposit becomes non-refundable as your order is being manufactured.

  5. One week before delivery, you pay the outstanding amount on your order. Most companies require you to pay for the full order up-front but we like to give our customers this financial flexibility.

  6. LUX Glazing delivers your order.

How fast is the delivery?

Our standard lead time for delivery of our products is 29 working days. Note that lead times may vary during peak season.

Your email confirmation following placing an order acts as your proof of purchase and we will be in contact to book in a delivery date upon manufacture of your product.

All lead times stated use working days Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) only; deliveries are made within this timeframe as of the following working day from the date of the order.

Orders over the value of £1200 (inc VAT) will receive FREE delivery; any order below this value will be subject to a delivery charge. Delivery charges are calculated by postcode.

We deliver to mainland UK (Great Britain) only. Please call for information regarding any other location. All deliveries are made Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7am and 9pm, please ensure someone is available to sign for your items.

Please do not arrange or start any installation work until you have received your delivery and checked all goods for any defects or missing parts. In a rare occurrence, organising such work after your products are received will give us ample time to resolve any issues, answer technical questions or supply additional fittings if needed. We wish to ensure your property is secure at all times.

Can I return my purchases?

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, where goods are ‘made to measure’ you will have no right to cancel your order, return the goods or seek any refund once you have agreed your order. All of our products are bespoke and made especially for you the customer; as such they do not fall under standard distance selling regulations. We do our best to communicate all product and service details before you confirm your order, but if you do require more information please contact our customer service office before starting the checkout process. All payment, order amends / cancellations and complaint processes specifically for bespoke products are detailed in our terms and conditions here; and do not affect your statutory rights.

Do the products come with a guarantee?

All u-PVC profiles, doors slabs and UPVC panels supplied by LUX Glazing come with a comprehensive manufacturers guarantee for a period of 10 years from the date of delivery.

The performance and quality of all upvc profiles, door slabs* and gaskets are guaranteed by their manufacturer for 10 years, sealed units 5 years and hardware and locks 1 year from date of delivery allowing for fair wear and tear. We guarantee that the colour will not fade for 10 years as long as you regularly wash the product with warm soapy water and adhere to the general maintenance guidelines set out by Just Doors UK. Do not try to clean the products with solutions containing bleach or abrasive cleaners.

Any products found to be faulty must be reported within 30 days of delivery to info@luxglazing.com and shall be free of charge. LUX Glazing will not pay the cost of any additional work or labour required to install replacement items. The Company cannot be held responsible for normal ‘Wear and Tear’ or accidental damage, misuse or failure by the customer to comply with routine maintenance.

Any replacement part supplied will be covered by the warranty period activated from the original point of sale and supply and not extended.

The guarantee is only valid for doors supplied and fitted within the UK.

How to measure?

Measure the opening outside on both the height and width. Always measure the exact brickwork opening and not the old frame or door.

Measure brick to brick in at least three different places and deduct 10mm from both the final height and width measurements to allow for 5mm fitting allowance around the new frame. This will enable you to ensure the new frame sits plumb and square once in the aperture. Spacers and filler will then be required to secure the frame into place and fill any gaps.

For doors, any side panel width should be measured from the centre point of the frame between the door and the side panel, to the outer edge of the side panel frame.

For doors, any top light depth should be measured from the centre point of the frame between the door and the top light to the top of the door frame. This will give you the transom drop for the top light.

Please note: Once your deposit is paid, a member of our team will be making a house visit to take final measurements, in order to ensure your order fits your home perfectly. We have found there are sometimes marginal variations in the customer-given measurements. Rest assured with any difference up to 1/2 inch there will be no changes to your quotation.

How do I decide on the frame?

Our consultants team at LUX Grazing will be able to advise you on the best type of frame that would fit your needs. The latest technologies have added various product specifications including five, six or even seven chambers as well as an internal warm edge between the two layers of glass to prevent condensation.

This will keep the temperature in the room steady, prevent heat loss and overheating as well as minimise noise pollution.

Our team will discuss with you the best option and if you have further questions please email us at info@luxglazing.uk
